Field and Infusion Nurse

Summary:

The Field Infusion/Injection Nurse (Field Nurse) provides specialized infusion/injection therapies and nursing services to oncology, auto-immune and rare disease patients in outpatient clinics or homecare settings.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Administer medications (IV, 1M and SC) in the patient’s home or specialty clinics setting
  • Monitor post-injection/infusion treatments as well as chart and report on all activities as directed by program protocols 
  • Provide patient education based on program protocols, individually or in groups 

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Qualified registered nurse (valid provincial license from the College of Nurses) 
  • Healthcare provider CPR certificate required 
  • Experience in a critical care, emergency, acute care inpatient/outpatient or homecare setting are considered assets 

Nurse Case Manager

Summary:

The Nurse Case Manager is responsible for managing all aspects of program support for assigned physicians or centers (hospital or clinics) in a given geographical area, and ensures that patients are provided easy access to the support program and access to their drug therapy. The Nurse Case Manager also works directly with the reimbursement specialist to help secure funding

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide medical support to patients and health care providers, including but not limited to education on specific diseases and therapies and disease management;
  • Telephone support, including maintenance calls and adherence support both inbound and outbound as needed
  • Administer and adhere to case-management protocols, including clinical monitoring, data collection, on-going patient follow-up, compliance, therapy disruption/discontinuation monitoring, adverse event reporting and liaison with primary healthcare providers;
  • Work directly with the reimbursement specialist and the physician to secure funding for their patients therapies

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • A Bachelor’s degree or registered nurse (RN) diploma
  • Requires a minimum of two (2) years in public or private third party reimbursement arena or pharmaceutical industry in sales (not required, but an asset)
